Rohit Sharma has not many opportunities to lead India, But whenever he got the opportunity Performed well. In 19 T20I led by Rohit, Team India has won 15 matches. Rohit does very well as a Captain. 

Rohit also Lead India in Asia Cup and Nidhas Trophy as well to the Victory. Rohit Sharma is a successful captain in limited overs for Team India. 

Rohit Sharma also won 5 IPL Trophies, With 4 as a Captain of Mumbai Indians. From 2013 where Ricky Pointing step back as a captain to Rohit Lead the team for the first time and to the IPL Trophy.

Comparison Kohli vs Virat as Captain :

Clearly whenever Rohit got an Opportunity, He performed well as Captain. It all depends on BCCI, Selection Committee and President of BCCI. 

Will Rohit lead Team India in T20 World Cup 2021.

It's Tough to replace Virat, but as far as Statistics concern Rohit is better to be Captaining Team India for World Cup.
